The Magnificent Seven - remake of the 1960 classic. Certainly it does not represent the same cultural value and can not boast same great critic response as a classic one. If we compare these two movies, you can find a lot in common, what makes these films unique by their history and philosophy send, as in an interview, said the director of the new picture Antoine Fuqua, so the film has something of interest to the viewer.

In my opinion the new film even very underrated, due to such large amount of mixed reviews. I liked it much more than majority of people did. It has all the classic one did and it was made with a fresh perspective. It has the best cast you can dig and a very appropriate director who delivers not just incredible action but a deep thought that sometimes justice comes not from big bills but from doing what is right.

Move on to the facts:

The movie is fresh, it has a positive response. Critics Consensus: The Magnificent Seven never really lives up to the superlative in its title — or the classics from which it draws inspiration — but remains a moderately diverting action thriller on its own merits.

The cast is magnificent as well. We got Washington, Pratt, Hawke and D'Onofrio. And there are some people not that famous who give a great and interesting performance.

Denzel Washington is great as always. This is his first western and he gives an incredible performance in the movie.

Chris Pratt is a movie star right now. Seeing such a great cast and Pratt in there as well increases excitement about it a lot.

Atmosphere in this movie stand out as an old, more classic feel. The chemistry between the crew is great which makes this movie even more creative and fun and creates a good solid film. The music is something special all the way supports the feel and makes us care about the story and characters more. Original soundtrack by James Horner.

A huge part of the movie which stand out for me is action. There is a lot of action and deaths showed very violent and rough. Set pieces are very well made, it is a high quality film all the way and action is one of the most strongest parts.

The tone is all the way similar with the original except being more dark. We have more adult conversations and much more violent humor than in the classic one.

The story set up pretty well. It all starts with slaughtering the villagers and then it starts to introduce us main characters. It was also handled very good. We have Denzel's character Chisolm who is a bounty hunter. He is a main hero and we got Josh Faraday - Chris Pratt character who is a very complicated man and he has nothing similar with Steve McQueen's character in the original. Pratt created a very complex and brand new character for himself. Since they meet and decide to gather a team to protect the village the second act begins.

Emotional attachment in the movie exists. Nevertheless knowing about what happened in the original I have already counted the odds before the movie and was expecting the worse in the end but I was still surprised how it was handled. You care about the seven, director Antoine Fuqua did a great job with the story and philosophy in it. 

This is a rewatchable movie. In my case I walked out of the theater liking it and ended up loving it a week after that.

In conclusion I may remind you that every movie is subjective. You can love it, hate it or do not care about it. This is why you can read a review before seeing and decide for yourself to go watch it or not.
