Pacific Rim 2 starts filming. ‘Maelstrom’ title confirmed

John Boyega announced the start of filming over Instagram and also revealed its title: Maelstrom. That is definitely a great title though.

The first Pacific Rim was fun and original so I hope the second one will be. Guillermo del Toro is not directing it but he is one of the producers. The job of directing will be done by Steven S. DeKnight(Spartacus(TV) and Marvel's Daredevil) so the movie is in good hands. Also confirmed that the original cast will return and the script is written by Derek Connolly (Jurassic World). 

Boyega himself plays the son of Idris Elba’s Stacker Pentecost. Scott Eastwood, Cailee Spaeny, Jing Tian, and Levi Meaden are also star in the movie, which scheduled to relise on Februrary 23, 2018.
